The products of the Box

Lovers of Cotignac and life, we created the Comptoirs de la Provence Verte to distribute and make known the products born from the passion of the women and men of this village in the Var hinterland.

It is a place filled with good energies and history. Even Louis XIV came to Cotignac on February 20, 1660, to thank for the gift of his birth.

Château CARPE DIEM and its spirit

A family estate carried by the sense of transmission.

The spirit of transmission that drives us draws its source from our family roots. It designates the transmission of our values, our profession, our know-how and our passion. Our search for excellence in a pure and elegant expression of the terroirs of Côtes de Provence and Coteaux Varois en Provence, serves the emotion of amateurs and collectors all over the world. This culture of pleasure is the basis of an art of living that appeals to the senses as much as to the mind... CARPE DIEM.

Uniting organic farming, biodynamics and know-how, the entire vineyard is managed with precision in the purest tradition. Thus, the estate has been able to establish traditional cultivation methods that place the organic wines of Château Carpe Diem in a sustainable and promising development. Our commitment has borne fruit: the vineyard is certified by the ECOCERT organization. It extends over thirty hectares in AOP Côtes de Provence, AOP Coteaux Varois en Provence and IGP Var. We pay particular attention to soils, developed on marine geological formations dating from the early Jurassic (more than 200 million years). From the vine to the glass, the wines of Château Carpe Diem convey an authentic approach in perfect harmony with nature.

Frederic FORTON's honeys

Passionate beekeeper, Frédéric Forton, perpetuates in the Var, the tradition of honey from Provence. In Carcès, a small authentic village in green Provence and the Verdon, 5 kilometers from Cotignac, Frédéric Forton set up his apiary more than 10 years ago, in the heart of unspoiled nature. This small territory of the Var is a true paradise for bees which evolve in the heart of a surprising ecosystem, near the lake of Carcès and its rivers.

The wide variety of melliferous plants and trees, a climate with exceptional sunshine and the presence of abundant water, provide the bees with a healthy environment conducive to the production of Provence honey of rare quality.

Cabanon Saffron

Our safranière is located in the heart of green Provence, on the heights of the village of Cotignac, where we live.

It was while walking, by chance, that we discovered this land and its two sheds lost in the "hill". We immediately fell in love with this scrubland, immense panorama, nature returned to the wild state.

The restanques (terrace crops) buried under the vegetation had not been cultivated for more than 50 years. After several weeks of clearing, we restored the place to the appearance it must have had at the beginning of the last century, discovered a spring, a well and dozens of Provençal essences. Rosemary, thyme and everlasting flowers have naturally resumed their rightful place in the middle of the saffron bulbs.

The olive grove of the Terrasses de Ferrusse

The olive grove is on the hill overlooking Cotignac and its towers. The olive trees are located on dry stone terraces. On our hill, hundreds of meters of dry stone retaining walls stop erosion, retain water and humidity and create homes for many animals. They allow our olive trees to produce our olives in a totally natural and organic way without artificial irrigation and without any treatment.

Abandoned for decades, we are rebuilding the degraded parts using ancestral techniques.

Our olives are picked in November or early December and crushed and cold pressed in the Moulin de Cotignac to give our oil its fruity and particular taste.
